Glioblastoma, also known as Glioblastoma Multiforme is a fast growing glioma that develops from star shaped glial cells (astrocytes) that supports the health of nerve cells in the brain.
Glioblastoma can be located anywhere in the brain and do not regularly spread outside of the brain. Glioblastoma occurs at any age but tends to occur more often in older adults. The World Health Organization classifies glioblastoma into 3 main categories. Glioblastoma isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)-mutant, glioblastoma IDH-wild type, and glioblastoma NOS.

Glioblastoma can occur anywhere in the brain and does not spread outside of the brain on a regular basis. Glioblastoma may strike anyone at any age, but it is more common in older people. Glioblastoma is divided into three groups by the World Health Organization. Isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutant glioblastoma, IDH wild type glioblastoma, and glioblastoma NOS.
Symptoms include Headaches Seizures, Nausea/Vomiting, Memory loss and Decrease in normal function.
Individuals suspected of having glioblastoma are subjected to a physical and neurological examination. Brain tumours can be pinpointed with extreme precision using advanced imaging techniques. Computed tomography (CT or CAT scan) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are two diagnostic instruments (MRI).

ONC201 is the first of a new class of cancer drugs known as imipridones, which work in a different way. The Phase 2 Oral ONC201 in Recurrent GBM, H3 K27M Glioma, and Midline Glioma research is currently underway at Oncoceutics. Oncoceutics will enrol patients with recurrent glioblastoma or recurrent WHO Grade IV gliomas with the H3 K27M mutation in a Phase 2 clinical trial.
CC 90010 : BMS
Celgene, a BMS subsidiary, is developing CC 90010, a reversible inhibitor of the epigenetic target bromodomain and extra-terminal (BET) proteins. For the treatment of Glioblastoma, the drug is currently in phase I/II development. Celgene initiated a Phase 1b, Open-label, Dose-Finding Study of CC-90010 in Combination with Temozolomide With or Without Radiation Therapy in Subjects with Newly Diagnosed Glioblastoma in July 2020 (NCT04324840).
